Paras Soni was arrested May 3 from Siddharth Enclave near Srinivas Puri in south Delhi.

Soni and three others – Naresh, Neeraj and Shiv Kumar – would dupe prominent banks by obtaining loans on forged documents, police said.

On April 26, Soni took Naresh in his car to Dasna in Ghaziabad where he shot him dead and threw his body into a river canal, according to police.

The next day Soni called Neeraj to Seema Puri, east Delhi. He gave Neeraj some juice laced with drugs before taking him to Dasna where he killed him in a similar fashion.

"He then went to Kumar's Sahibabad house and shot him dead," Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Neeraj Thakur said.

"During sustained interrogation Soni claimed that he had been threatened by the three over sharing of the fraud money. He decided to eliminate them," he added.

Soni is from Faridabad in Haryana while Naresh and Neeraj are from Delhi. Kumar belonged to Sahibabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The accused has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
