Kolkata : University of Leeds, one of the leading British educational institutions, Wednesday signed an agreement with the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) to run a joint management training programme.
"University of Leeds Business School is signing the agreement with IIM-Calcutta to further its management training programme for the Indian management students. The five-week Post Graduate Programme for Executives (PGPX) would comprise business activities in Europe and individual projects of corporate houses," University of Leeds Business School's dean Andrew Lock told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.
He said that every year 15 students would be chosen from IIM-C to undergo this programme in Britain.
But the students will have to fulfil certain criteria. They must have strong recruitment records before joining this management programme in Britain, the dean said, adding that in the first week students would be given knowledge about business in Europe and for the last four weeks they will work on individual corporate projects.
"We have already started this programme with IIM-Ahmedabad last year and we have got very good response from the students. But now we are trying to cooperate with all six IIMs in India to start this business education programme here," Lock said.
"We would also discuss some topics like faculty exchange and students exchange between these two educational institutions and conducting joint research programmes," he said.
