Mumbai : The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Thursday said it had won the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project in Noida – which Uttar Pradesh's Mayawati government wants to be scrapped – on a "transparent and competitive basis".
"We have won the Noida SEZ on a transparent and competitive basis," said a Reliance spokesperson.
The firm was reacting to the state cabinet's decision earlier in the day to recommend to the central government the scrapping of the project for violating the SEZ policy.
"This is one of the most important projects for the development of the state of Uttar Pradesh. We look forward to discussing the matter with the Uttar Pradesh government to resolve any issues," said the spokesperson.
