Lahore : A senior official of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League- Qaid (PML-Q) has hinted at President Pervez Musharraf taking an early decision on the contentious issue of holding the dual post of army chief.
"The nation will hear good news about Musharraf's uniform after the PML's central executive (CEC) meeting," PML-Qaid senior vice president Kabir Ali Wasti said Thursday.
He claimed the party would resolve the uniform issue in its ongoing CEC meeting.
Wasti said the president should remove his uniform because this would help him emerge as a much stronger president.
The country's future would augur well under "a viable civil rule", the politician said.
"None other but the army could oust General Pervez Musharraf from the government," he was quoted as saying in Daily Times.
There was no elaboration on this point.
