New Delhi : An unclaimed motorbike parked near parliament building Wednesday evening created panic and a bomb disposal squad had to be called to the spot.
According to police, some journalists heard weird sounds emanating from a bike parked at Vijay Chowk parking area, bearing Uttar Pradesh registration number.
The journalists informed the security officials nearby, who in turn called the bomb disposal squad.
“After primary frisking the motorbike was taken to a police station and a mobile phone was recovered from it,” said a senior police official.
“There was no mobile bomb inside the bike, but we have identified the person to whom it belonged. We have detained the owner and further investigations are underway,” the official added.
