Hajj vehicles attacked in Kerala by CPI(M) workers

Kochi: A group of CPI(M) workers attacked number of vehicles taking Muslims to the airport for Hajj pilgrimage, on Tuesday evening.

According to sources, CPI(M) workers attack half a dozen cars that were taking Haj pilgrims to the Kozhikode airport. The mob wielding rods forced the pilgrims out, and destroyed all the vehicles with rods and stones. The mob disappeared after wrecking the vehicles. The police later made arrangement for transporting the stranded pilgrims

Police claimed that the attack seems to be planned in which one woman sustained minor injuries.

The news of attack lead to considerable tension and on Wednesday, the Muslim League workers destroyed the local office of the CPI(M). This lead to destruction of Muslim League’s office by CPI(M) workers.

Police fired tear gas shells to disperse the stone-pelting groups. Senior police officials claim to have reached an agreement for peace. More police force has been rushed to the area.
