The 101 Engineer Regiment will undertake a camel safari from Anupgarh to Munnabao. “The safari is intended to inculcate a spirit of adventure among the personnel of the unit,” a press note from the regiment said.

Lt.Gen. N.Thamburaj, the general officer commanding-in-chief of the Southern Command will flag off the safari from Khetolai on Nov 22, the release said.

Villages along the route have seen war both in 1965 and in 1971 and their men have fought along with the army.

The safari is expected to reach Munnabao on Dec 23.
