An Islamic Hamas militant was killed before dawn on Tuesday in an exchange of fire with a special Israeli army force east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis, the group said in a statement.

Palestinian eyewitnesses and medics said that four members of Hamas armed wing were injured by the Israeli special force gunfire. All were taken to Nasser Hospital in the town for treatment.

Later on Tuesday morning, another two militants, of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades were also killed as they moved towards the no-go security zone in northern Gaza Strip and clashed with Israeli army forces stationed in the area.

The group said in a leaflet that two of its militants reached at early hours on Tuesday morning the outskirts of the Jewish settlement of Nativ Ha’assarah, on the borders between northern Gaza Strip and Israel.

“Our militants clashed for more than one hour with the Israeli soldiers before they were shot and killed,” said al-Aqsa Brigades, the armed wing of Fatah movement in a leaflet sent to reporters.
