Baghdad, Nov 21 (DPA) Dozens of people were killed and injured Wednesday in a suicide bomb attack in Ramadi in the western Iraqi province of Anbar, in one of the worst terror bombings in months, reports said.
A suicide bomber set off an explosives-laden minivan outside a court building in the city, the Al Jazeera news broadcaster reported from the scene.
Anbar, located around 115 km west of Baghdad, has been at the centre of a Sunni insurgency. No further details were immediately available.
Four coalition soldiers were, meanwhile, reported killed in two separate helicopter crashes outside Baghdad Tuesday.
Two British soldiers were killed when their RAF Puma helicopter crashed near the capital, Britain’s ministry of defence said Wednesday.
In another incident, also near Baghdad Tuesday, two US soldiers died in a helicopter crash in the Salman Pak region, the US military in Iraq said Wednesday.
Initial reports indicated the crash was not the result of an attack, but an investigation would be conducted to determine the cause, according to the US military.
