Milli Ittehad Parishad bring relief to Nandigram

Hundreds of people reached Nandigram today under the banner of Milli Ittehad Parishad (MIP) bring much needed relief to the inhabitants.

Siddiquallah Chaudhry of Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind of West Bengal and member of the delegation informed TwoCircles.net by phone that they carried blankets, rice and other food items for displaced people of Nandigram. There are about 25,000 displaced people in Nandigram.

Mr. Chaudhry alleged that even today there are reports of some women being raped even though CRPF has been deployed but security is not adequate.

In total 959 houses have been destroyed in recent violence.

MIP Demanded President’s rule in West Bengal and peace and security in Nandigram. MIP is going to launch a statewide program in every district to mobilize people against the Left Front government.

Talking about recent violence in Kolkata, he said it appears to be planned by CPI(M) goons. He said that they have informed Police Commissioners to be vigilant but adequate security was no there on the streets. He alleged that police let the violence go out of hand and then called the army.

Talking about Taslima Nasrin issue, Mr. Chaudhry said that Nandigram and Taslima case are separate issues
