Abandoned landmine kills four outside Kabul

Kabul : Four civilians were killed as a mine struck their car outside Afghan capital Kabul Monday, a senior police official said.

“It was around 9 a.m. when a car ran over a mine left over from the past wars,” He told Xinhua.

The incident took place in Charasiab district of Kabul province, some 25 km south of the Afghan capital, he said.

In another explosion Sunday, which was described as a Taliban suicide attack, in Paghman district, 20 km west of Kabul, 10 people including one NATO soldier and nine civilians were killed.
