New Delhi : A Blueline bus conductor allegedly roughed up a youth and forced him off a moving bus here Thursday night for not purchasing a ticket.
The incident took place at around 9.30 p.m. when the conductor of a Blueline bus, plying on route 611 between Mayur Vihar and Dhaula Kuan, allegedly manhandled the youth and pushed him off the moving bus near Defence Colony in south Delhi.
Police, however claimed the youth slipped from the bus as he was standing on its footboard.
According to police, the victim had not bought his ticket and an argument ensued with the conductor. In the midst of this, the youth slipped and fell off the bus and sustained injuries, police added.
The victim, who is yet to be identified, was admitted to the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with multiple fractures. His condition is stated to be serious.
Police said the conductor of the bus escaped after the incident.
“We have impounded the bus and dispatched teams to arrest the accused. A case has been registered at the Defence Colony police station,” said a police official, adding that no complaint had yet been filed.
