In an interview with Al-Ahram paper, El-Baradei called for giving diplomatic efforts a chance before discussing any other means.

The international community should encourage Iran to cooperate with the IAEA in order to prove the Iranian nuclear programme is peaceful, he stressed.

He praised the idea of establishing a nuclear fuel bank amid the great demand of nuclear power, adding that the bank should be under the supervision of the IAEA to avoid being monopolised by any country.

The establishment of the bank will not give any country the opportunity to develop an independent nuclear fuel programme, he pointed out.
