Tehran : The International Qods Day rallies are being staged nationwide on the last Friday of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
People are carrying different placards in their hands and chant anti-US and anti-Israel slogans.
Huge crowds of people have thronged to the streets of Tehran to join multitudes of other compatriots who are leading their way to Tehran University, where the rallies would culminate.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is to address the International Quds Day ceremonies at Tehran University, where this week’s Friday prayers congregation would be led by the Expediency Council and Experts Assembly chairman Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
The International Qods Day rallies were initiated by the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini to voice the protest of the Islamic Ummah against Zionists.
