Arbil : The presidency of the northern Iraqi semi-autonomous region of Kurdistan started Wednesday mulling the imminent Turkish invasion of the region following the approval by the Turkish parliament earlier Wednesday of a relevant bill.
The presidency will declare its final position on the imminent Turkish military act on Thursday pending careful study, a source of the council told KUNA under the condition of anonymity.
The Turkish government tabled to the parliament on Monday a bill sanctioning a cross-border offensive to crush the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) rebels, based in north Iraq, against the backdrop of the killing of 15 Turkish soldiers by PKK rebels in southeast Turkey in early October.
