Visit of Saudi Arabia’s crown prince to Kuwait highl important

Riyadh : Kuwait’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Salem Al-Sabah said on Sunday the visit of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Prince Sultan Bin Abdel Aziz on Wednesday is highly important and aims at discussing bilateral ties and issues of common interest.

In statements to KUNA, Sheikh Hamad said the visit of Prince Sultan, also the kingdom’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and the General Inspector, to his second country Kuwait comes in response to an invitation by the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Hamad said Kuwait, its Amir, Government and people are looking forward to this visit.

During his visit Prince Sultan will hold talks with the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and senior officials on the latest regional and international developments.

The mission falls within the framework of the distinctive, historic and brotherly ties binding the two brotherly countries. It also signals keenness of the two leaderships on holding continuous consultations on diverse affairs of common concern, in addition to supporting the work of the Gulf Cooperation Council (the GCC).

Sheikh Hamad praised the Kuwaiti-Saudi relations which are based on a common history, language, culture and destiny.

The Kuwaiti ambassador also praised Saudi Arabia’s leading role in serving the issues of the Arab and Islamic worlds in addition to its efforts in achieving unity among the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) during its presidency of the current GCC session and Arab Summit.

Sheikh Hamad also noted that Kuwait is keen on continuously consulting and coordinating with Saudi Arabia on all political issues on the regional and international levels.

Sheikh Hamad wished Prince Sultan and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay in Kuwait.

Prince Sultan’s latest visit to Kuwait was in January 2006, when he congratulated Sheikh Sabah on his accession to power.
