BIG FM launches station in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam : BIG 92.7 FM, one of India’s leading FM radio networks, Thursday launched its station in Andhra Pradesh’s coastal city of Visakhapatnam.

This is 35th station of BIG 92.7 FM in the country and the third in Andhra Pradesh after Hyderabad and Tirupati.

The FM station here was launched with kids from Public and Police Association for street children (PAPA) releasing 927 balloons in air. The network had PAPA children’s as the chief guests for the function.

The launch of BIG FM in Vizag will mark the entry of a new form of entertainment to the people of the coastal city, said Ashwin Padmanabhan, cluster-head AP, BIG 92.7 FM.

“We are very excited about launching in the city of Vizag. Our radio signals cover the city of Vizag and adjoining towns as well, which ensures greater penetration and reach,” he said.

BIG 92.7 FM Vizag will have extremely localized programming that has been designed after a detailed research to understand the entertainment needs of the city.

In the first phase of its launches, BIG 92.7 FM set up Stations in the cities of Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Jammu, Srinagar and Aligarh.

The current phase of launches will take the radio station’s reach to several mini-metros, taking the total count of stations to 45 and making it the biggest radio network in the country. It plans to touch 200 million listeners, covering every fifth Indian across the country.
