Islamabad : Pakistani security forces have arrested 140 Afghan and Uzbek nationals during a search operation in southwestern Pakistan bordering Afghanistan.
The private Geo TV channel Friday quoted police sources as saying that police arrested 20 Uzbek citizens Wednesday during a raid on a house close to the Afghan border.
Later, security forces cordoned off the border area and arrested 120 more Uzbek and Afghan citizens in the search operation.
Police said a majority of arrested belonged to Afghanistan’s northern areas. Three agents who helped people in crossing the border were also arrested.
