Gorakhpur: A complaint has been lodged at the UN against the anti-minority campaign launched by Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Member of Parliament Yogi Aditya Nath.
Ex-Member of Parliament Aas Mohammad and well-known intellectual Mudra Rakshas lodged the complaint at the world body through its representatives W. Michael and Asma Jahangir. The two met the UN representatives during their Lucknow stay recently.
During the meeting, the UN representatives were presented with reports wherein it was said that several houses of Muslim community were set on fire on the behest of MP Aditya Nath.
Aas Mohammad told reporters that police officials did not gather courage to register any case against the MP. The Human Rights Commission too did not show any interest in this case, he said. Mudra Rakshas said Muslims were presented in wrong perspective, their complaints were ignored and Muslim names of cities were changed. He said Muslims’ love for their motherland was doubted, madrasas were described as ‘havens of terrorism’ and Muslim youths were implicated in false cases. Representatives of Budh and Christian communities also expressed their views in the meeting.
