Madrid : A one-day seminar on role of religions in establishment of worldwide peace is to be held in Barcelona, Spain, on Thursday.
The seminar is organized by Spanish Culture of Peace Foundation and the International Institute for Dialogue among Civilizations.
Federico Mayor Zaragoza, President of the Culture of Peace Foundation, is to chair the meeting.
The meeting will be attended by officials from several cultural organizations including, the United Nations Educational, Scientific nd Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Islamic Cultural, Educational, and Scientific Conference Organization (ICESCO) as well as a group of Spanish church leaders.
Former Iranian president, Mohammad Khatami, heading a delegation, arrived in Barcelona on Wednesday, at the invitation of Federico Mayor Zaragoza, to attend the seminar.
He was welcomed by Iran’s Ambassador to Spain, Davoud Salehi, and several seminar officials at Barcelona airport.
