Tehran : ran said Monday it was willing to share its nuclear expertise with other nations within the framework of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) regulations, IRNA reported.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made the remark during a meeting with visiting Philippine Foreign Minister Alberto Romulo, adding that Iran will try to uphold rights of nations to acquire nuclear technology for civilian uses.
“Iran will campaign for the right of all nations to acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes,” the president said.
According to the presidential information website, Ahmadinejad said Tehran would put its experience and know-how of nuclear technology at the disposal of other nations and insisted that the Islamic country seeks nuclear energy for the interest of all.
Romulo underscored that signatories to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) are entitled to make use of nuclear energy as an environment friendly, economical and clean alternative, saying that his country wanted Iran to apply its nuclear knowledge to other fields for benefit of people.
The Philippine minister said Manila was keen to expand bilateral relations with Iran in various fields, including energy.
