Pakistan: Bilawal may figure on time’s influential people list

New York : The Pakistan People’s Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to be on Time magazine’s 2008 list of 100 most influential people in the world, according to the current voting trend by readers of the publication.

Bilawal, so far, has secured 7,875 votes and is figuring high at the 20th position on the list of top influential figures. The magazine has invited its readers to vote for pesonalities including leaders, artists, entrepreneurs and thinkers who influence the world and deserve to be on its list that still has 207 finalists.

The magazine will narrow down the list to 100 and bring it out in its next issue. Bilawal has been described as 19-year-old Oxford student, chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party and son of slain leader Benazir Bhutto.

He was made the party chairman after his mother’s tragic assassination in December last year.

Counting his positives, the magazine notes Bilawal’s announcement on his intention to complete studies before entering politics.
