Gaza : One Palestinian lost his life in an Israeli air strike on Gaza on Saturday and up to 13 Israeli troops were wounded in a ground bombing attack that targetted an Israeli-manned pssageway in the southernmost region of the strip.
Witnesses said Israeli aircraft fired a lone missile in the direction of a group of Palestinians in Al-Shuja’iah district east of Gaza city, killing one and wounding two others. Body of 21-year-old Ihab Al-Mughni was badly disfigured in the air strike.
The attack coincided with land action by Israeli forces in the same region, with involvement of heavy armor and tanks.
Meanwhile, a spokesman of the the Israeli Army said 13 soldiers were wounded in an explosion that ripped through the passageway of Kirm Shalom. He said the attack was carried out by suicide attackers, and Izz-Edddne Al-Qassam brigades, the military wing of Hamas, said it lost three fighters in the operation.
