Mumbai : Gopinath Munde, a former deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Sunday resigned as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary, protesting an appointment in the Mumbai unit of the party.
In his resignation sent to BJP president Rajnath Singh, Munde said he was also resigning as member of the party’s state executive, party sources here said.
Munde was reportedly miffed at member of legislative council Madhu Chavan’s appointment as president of the BJP’s Mumbai city unit, the sources said.
