Ghaziabad : The police Sunday arrested three people for allegedly smuggling grain into Uttar Pradesh after evading tax. Four truck-loads of wheat and paddy grain were also recovered from a warehouse here.
According to the police, the warehouse is located in a Sahibabad residential locality near the Delhi border.
The warehouse owner confessed that he and his accomplices smuggled grain from Rajasthan and Haryana after evading tax, and sold these in Ghaziabad and Meerut, the police said.
The police identified the three arrested as Gabbar, Niyazoo and Ashfaque, all residents of Ghazibad.
