Speakers, exhibitors from around world to attend Abu Dhabi oil meet

Abu Dhabi : Top industry experts and exhibitors will participate in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec)-2008, to be held here Nov 3-6.

Being organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Adipec-2008’s theme would be ‘Working Together to Deliver Sustainable Growth: Innovative Teams and Technology Deployment’, according to the official Emirates news agency WAM.

This year’s event will focus on a wide range of technical categories from
sustainability and growth in oil and gas production to the role of technology development in improving efficiency of oil and gas production.

In addition, field development, geoscience and maintenance, integrity and operations will also come up for discussion.

Executive panellists such as Andrew Gould of Schlumberger, Tony Howard of BP and Tim Cejka of ExxonMobil have already confirmed their participation in the executive plenary sessions on the opening afternoon of the conference.

There will also be speakers from Saudi Aramco, France’s Total, Holland’s Shell, Environmental Friends Society, Gasco and Occidental, Baker Hughes, UAE’s ministry of economy and planning and the Petroleum Institute, the report said.

The full list of topics for discussion in the conference is: human resources development, sustainability, new frontiers development and emerging producers, the changing face of the petro-dollar, peak production debate, future gas development, technology innovation, project management in a changing contracting environment, technology deployment in a collaborative environment and the role of major players in building production.

Exhibitors and visitors from around the globe will participate in the Adipec-2008.
