Speaking to IRNA, the diplomat said a group of opportunists have recently made problems for a number of Iranian nationals by issuing fake and illegal visas for them in the name of some Kuwaiti companies and hotels.

Afshar urged Iranians to make sure about validity of their visas before travelling to Kuwait.

He added that more than 50 Iranians have, so far, faced problems upon arrival in Kuwait including detention by Kuwaiti police, or being deported to Iran in some cases.

He stressed that officials of Iran’s Embassy were pursuing the case of the Iranian visitors who were arrested or put in jail for, unconsciously, gaining fake visas.

Afshar blamed Kuwait’s Embassy in Iran for the problem arguing that they have recently enforced new restrictions on issuing visas for the relatives of Iranians residing in Kuwait.

This happens while Iran’s Embassy in Kuwait issues visas for Kuwaiti national within 24 hours, Afshar said.

Referring the “excellent relations” between Iran and Kuwait, the diplomat expressed hope that Kuwaiti officials would take necessary measures to solve the problem of Iranian nationals as soon as possible.
