Judicial enquiry into Malegaon blasts demanded

New Delhi: Senior Supreme Court Lawyer and renowned human rights activist Prashant Bhushan has put forth the demand that Malegaon blasts should be probed by a committee comprising of at least three High Court judges.

He was delivering the presidential address at the ‘Advocate and Journalist meet’ today. This meet was organised by National Democratic Council (NDC) at the V.K. Krishna Menon Bahwan here. “The present ATS Chief P.S. Raghuvanshi is under the scanner for his partisan role so he better be removed as head of the enquiry team and an independent enquiry commission comprising of three retired High Court judges be formed to look into the Malegaon blasts”, contended Mr. Bhusan.

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Group Editor of Rashtriya Sahara Mr. Aziz Burney emphasized that the truth behind the death of Karkare and other police officers bought to light. Mr. Burney fully endorsed Union Minister for Minorities Affairs suspicion regarding the circumstances under which the Karkare and other senior police officers were killed.
