Malegaon blast accused get bail in fake ID case

Mumbai: Malegaon blast accused Lt. Col. Shrikant Purohit and Sudhakar Chaturvedi were granted bail on Monday by the Kurla metropolitan court as the magistrate Yogesh Rane accepted their bail plea on a personal bond of Rs 10,000 each.

Purohit and Chaturvedi were arrested for forging documents and possessing arms illegally. Chaturvedi was nabbed by Matunga police on November 4 outside Dadar station for possessing an entry pass of an army area in Deolali in Nashik, a fake Army ID, a country-made revolver and an army uniform, while Purohit was arrested for procuring the arm and the fake ID card for Chaturvedi.

After the arrest of Chaturvedi Matunga police had filed a case against him and later took permission from the court for conducting narco-analysis taste on him. During the taste the accused confessed that Purohit had provided him with those things. Chaturvedi also accepted that he not only organized all the meetings held in Bhonsla military school in Nashik but was also involved in plotting for the blast.

In the September 29 Malegaon blast six people were killed. The blast was carried out days before Eid. All the victims were Muslims.

Both the accused right now are in judicial custody for Malegaon blast. They will be produced before MCOCA court on December 29 where other proceedings against them will be carried out.
