US Convoy Blasted in Afghanistan

Kabul : A car bomb exploded against a US military convoy in the western Afghan Afghan province of Herat, wounding three, military sources reported Friday.

The attack occurred when the convoy carrying vehicles was leaving Heart airport, reported the Afghan security official Qadir Afgha to media.

One US soldier and two others from different nationalities were wounded as well as two vehicles damaged.

Spokesmen from the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) led by NATO reported the two wounded people are out of danger.

In another incident the Pentagon command reported that during an operation in Kandahar southern province 11 alleged Afghan rebels died.

A woman was wounded during the occupying forces’ attack.

According to the source the offensive was targeted on a bomb maker responsible for attacking NATO Forces.

The US troops and the NATO have occupied this Central Asian Islamic nation since October 2001 when they invaded it.

Since that time about 70,000 soldiers’ members of an expeditionary force, half of them from US, are stationed in Afghanistan.
