Puducherry : A Congress party delegation Sunday met Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy and demanded measures for all-round development of the union territory.
Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary V.P. Abdul Rahman demanded improvement in rail connectivity and favourable environment to attract IT and industrial investments.
The demands include running Shatabdi Express trains linking Puducherry with Chennai, Bangalore and Mangalore and generous tax cuts to attract investors.
Leading a party delegation, Rahman handed over a memorandum to Rangasamy and requested him to forward it to the central government before the tabling of the Railway Budget in parliament.
“The copies of the memorandum were distributed among party workers to underline the need for our workers to press for these demands,” said Rahman.
