“In as much as the Israeli massacres, assassinations and invasions continued, the army of occupation should prepare itself to receive strikes by the Palestinian resistance,” said Hamas’ spokesman Ismail Radwan.

A Hamas fighter was killed and 20 people were wounded during a series of Israeli air strikes on Gaza late Saturday. The aerial attacks followed a Palestinian barrage with makeshift rockets into southern Israel where two residents were wounded.

Radwan shunned accusations by Palestinian leaders of rival Fatah movement who say Gaza rocket attacks give Israel pretexts to widen the offensive in the coastal territory.

“Are there rocket attacks in West Bank which the Israeli army invades?” he asked.

“The enemy doesn’t need justifications to keep on its aggression against our Palestinian people … It goes ahead with the offensive thanks to the useless meetings and statements that harm the Palestinian resistance,” Radwan added, referring to the resumption of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority (PNA).
