Santiago : A small plane has made an emergency landing on a busy highway in the capital city of Chile but without causing injury or damage, Spanish news agency EFE reported Wednesday.
The four occupants of the Cessna 172 light plane were also safe in Tuesday’s incident, authorities said.
The plane landed, apparently after experiencing technical problems, on a stretch of the Costanera Norte highway that spans Santiago from east to west.
Police, emergency teams and civil aviation officials were sent to the scene.
The plane had taken off from the Tobalaba airport in Santiago about 3:20 p.m., police said.
