Gaza : A Palestinian militant was killed and 13 people wounded in an Israeli incursion early on Sunday morning in east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, Palestinian medics said.
Mo’aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency and ambulance services, said that one Palestinian was killed and 13 people wounded, including three in serious conditions and one in critical condition.
Palestinian residents said that several Israeli army tanks backed by helicopters stormed the area, east of the town near Gaza airport before dawn on Sunday, amid intensive and heavy gunfire.
They said that dozens of militants rushed to the scene to confront the invading Israeli army forces.
They added that one militant was killed and 13 others including civilians were wounded as Israeli helicopters launched several rockets at them.
Meanwhile, an Islamic Hamas militant died of his wounds sustained from an Israeli aerial strike two days ago, medics at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said.
