Melbourne : Australia has rescheduled the two-match Test series against Bangladesh and will now host them in 2010 July-August.
The series was originally scheduled for August this year but was postponed as it clashed with the Beijing Olympics.
Representatives from Cricket Australia (CA) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) met during International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executives’ meet in Kuala Lumpur and agreed to hold the series in July-August 2010 in northern Australia, a CA release said.
“We have been able to reschedule the Test series between Australia and Bangladesh for the middle of 2010 when both teams have no other obligations under the Future Tours Programme,” said CA’s General Manager of Cricket Michael Brown.
“The decision to delay the series, scheduled for this year, is due to the Beijing Olympics. The step was taken to ensure that the series received its due recognition from the media and cricketing public.”
