New Delhi : As many as two insurgents were killed Friday near the Line of Control (LoC) dividing Indian-administered and Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
The encounter took place on the LoC in Keran sector of Kupwara district in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir early today, Indo Asian News Service reported, quoting Defence Ministry spokesman Lt. Col. A.K. Mathur.
Two intruders were killed in the encounter, Mathur said.
This was the first infiltration bid by Pak-based insurgents into Jammu and Kashmir in 2008, he said.
