Islamabad : The five-member team of Scotland Yard detectives Wednesday traveled to eastern Lahore city from here as a part of its efforts to help Pakistan probe Benazir Bhutto assassination.
Police sources told KUNA that the team will be meeting senior police officials and former Chief Minister, Pervaiz Elahi.
Meanwhile two more detectives arrived here early morning to join the forensic experts team.
Security was tight at the airport upon their arrival and the media was not allowed to talk to them.
The five British detectives Tuesday met with President Pervez Musharraf to make all-out efforts to get to the “bottom of the issue” in the investigation into Benazir Bhuttos assassination.
According to press reports, the President asked the UK detectives to make all-out efforts to get to the bottom of the issue, for which the government is ready to further provide all kinds of cooperation.
It may be mentioned here that Bhuttos Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has accused President Musharraf of her Benazir assassination. Angry Benazir supporters went on rampage after her death and set alight dozens of offices of ruling party Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) in several parts of the country and particularly in the interior Sindh.
