Amman : The Lower House of Jordanian Parliament on Thursday condemned the continued Israeli “aggression” on the Palestinian territories, saying it was a “dangerous escalation against the Palestinian people.”
The lower house said in a statement that “the aggression committed by the Israeli authorities against the Palestinians contravenes principles and resolutions of international legitimacy.”
The lower house urged the international community and all peace loving forces that defend right, justice and freedom, to immediately intervene to stop the Israeli massacres.
It also expressed full support to efforts exerted by Jordan under the leadership of Jordanian King Abdullah II to send food, medicine and humanitarian aid to the Palestinians and provide medical treatment to the patients.
The lower house “is proud of the noble efforts exerted by King Abdullah at the Arab, Islamic, regional and international levels to support the Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital,” the statement added.
More than 20 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli ground and air strikes since Tuesday. Most of them are members of Hamas armed wing, including the son of senior Hamas leader in Gaza Mahmoud al-Zahar.
