Northern plains warm, to get cooler

New Delhi : There was some respite for the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the cold wave abated Friday while northern India saw a fall in the minimum temperatures, the met office said here.

The minimum temperatures are likely to fall by 3-4 degrees Celsius over the plains of northwest India and Rajasthan over the next 2-3 days.

Fog is also likely over some parts of the northern plains. The lowest minimum temperature of 6.8 degrees Celsius in the plains was recorded at Amritsar in Punjab.

Rain or snowfall is likely at some places over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand during the next day and decrease thereafter.
