CAIR-Cincinnati to host ‘Islamophobia’ Panel

Cincinnati – (IINA)January 29 – The Cincinnati chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OH) will host a panel discussion entitled “Beyond Stereotypes: Islamophobia and the War on Terror” at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 3. The event is part of a series of discussions taking place around the nation, addressing the issue of “Islamophobia,” or fear and hatred of Islam and Muslims. The Cincinnati panel will discuss attitudes about Islam and how these may be shaped by media images, political statements, and other factors including the actions of extremists.

The panel discussion will be attended among others by David Cole, professor at Georgetown University and the author of four books including co-author of “Less Safe, Less Free: Why America Is Losing the War on Terror,” Peter Gottschalk, Associate Professor of Religion at Wesleyan University, and Mohamed Nimer, research director at CAIR in Washington.
