Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh state government’s efforts for encouraging school education have started to take concrete shape, an official Press release claimed.
Latest in the series is distribution of free text-books to all the one crore 10.14389 lakh students of primary and middle schools without any discrimination. The state government has spent Rs. 102 crore over this scheme.
The process of distribution of books has already begun which is being monitored by Rajya Shiksha Kendra. It may be mentioned that free text-books are also being distributed among 13.31000 lakh students of class IX to XII separately.
The most important aspect of this scheme is that free text-books are being distributed to all the students of primary and middle schools without discrimination of caste and sects. Out of 1.14 crore school-children, the number of girl and boy beneficiaries is 54.82645 lakh and 55.32144 lakh 144 respectively.
Out of the total benefited students 21.19794 lakh belong to Scheduled Castes, 31.83447 lakh to Scheduled Tribes, 45.96460 lakh to other backward classes, 2.44084 lakh to minorities and 11.14688 lakh to general category.
Apart from government schools, free text-books are also being distributed in the schools registered with Madrasa Board and Sanskrit Board, the release added. ([email protected])
