Tel Aviv : Israel’s Shin Bet (intelligence) arrested six suspects of Arab-Israeli origin for plotting US President George W. Bush assassination and attempt to set up a terrorist network linked to Al-Qaeda.
The release says two of the youths -with ages ranging from 21-24 years- live in Nazareth and study at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the rest are Palestinians residents in East Jerusalem.
The suspects volunteered cooperation via the Internet to the Global Jihad (Holy War) and one that lives in a campus dorm that overlooks the heliport where Bush landed even contacted them to murder Bush on his May visit to Israel.
A joint probe by the Shin Bet and Israeli police showed that the youth recorded copters landing and taking off and contacted Al-Qaeda to plan planting a bomb on one of the copters that Bush used.
The intelligence also found in the PCs of several instructions to assemble bombs.
The six created a religious and terrorist network with which they contacted Al-Qaeda, and were active at Al-Aksa Mosque and through out Jerusalem.
