The security forces clashed with a group of PKK militants, who came to Guzgulu village of Yedisu town of Bingol province to collect some food and other supplies, local authorities were quoted as saying.

The two PKK militants were killed in the clash, and operations were underway to capture other terrorists, the authorities added.

The PKK rebels have battled more than two decades for autonomy in southeastern Turkey and they use strongholds in northern Iraq for cross-border raids. About 40,000 people have been killed in the over-two-decade conflict.
