Amman : Jordan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) have signed an agreement to strengthen the regional coordination network to fight bird flu in the Middle East.
The project aims to help Middle Eastern countries fight bird flu in the region and limit its impact on the poultry sector and rural economy as well as protecting the human population from contracting the disease.
The project also aims to enable member countries of the network implement strategies to control the disease through unified plans and increase preparations and emergency procedures to deal with the disease.
The project agreement was signed Sunday by Minister of Agriculture Muzahim Al Muhaisen and FAO Representative in Amman Ahmad Al Minyawi.
