However, the Islamabad high court said Khan could not be allowed to give interview to media regarding Pakistan’s nuclear program, private Dawn TV reported.

Qadeer Khan, founder of Pakistan’s nuclear program, was put under house arrest in 2004 after he confessed on state-run television to illegally selling nuclear technology outside Pakistan.

Khan was pardoned by President Pervez Musharraf after his confession but has remained in detention.

“If the verdict means guards outside my door, searching visitors, its not acceptable,” Dawn TV quoted Khan as saying.

The Pakistani scientist had demanded the new Pakistani government review his detention and free him.
