About 10 vessels blocked the port where the foreign combat units are located so they cannot participate in the military drills, a release from the political organization stated.

Authorities stopped three boats, but another seven continued protesting, the Brotherhood press release noted.

The Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine previously obstructed the passing of a group of US soldiers who arrived in the city to attend the NATO exercises.

Hundreds of protestors lied down in the road to the Official House located at the port city to impede the passing of cars that moved participants in the military maneuvers to the opening ceremony.

Olga Kovalenko, secretary of the regional organization from the Progressive Socialist Party in Odessa, stated that demonstrators will keep on protesting against the Atlantic alliance in Ukraine.

The Sea Breeze 2008 involves soldiers from US, Ukraine and another 15 countries with the alleged aim of improving coordination of peace and humanitarian operations.

Started July 14, these exercises have four phases that will conclude July 28.
