The meeting has sought justice from the National Commission for Minorities and National Human Rights Commission for the poor employees who were fired by Professor Arun Kumar, Acting Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council.

The participants expressed their anguish and disappointment over the termination of the employees including Md Danish, Ejaz Ahmad and Rahul Kumar Sharma from the Council. They were appointed by Professor Jabir Hussain, then chairman of the Council in 2006. But they were terminated by Professor Arun Kumar, Acting Chairman of the Council when Hussain resigned after getting elected to Rajya Sabha.

Justice should be done with all 72 employees along with Md Danish, Ejaz Ahmad and Rahul Sharma and they all should be reappointed in the secretariat of the Council, they demanded.

The three were terminated on false allegation of theft while they were discharging duty as per order of the deputy secretary.

This is not the end of the story. In fact, they were got arrested and kept in jail for 29 days. After that Acting Chairman Professor Arun Kumar released a press statement saying that they were innocent and had been charged by mistake. The court has also given them a clean chit.

When the court and the acting chairman too declared them innocent and said the charges against them were baseless why the secretariat of the Council did not take any action against those who had leveled false allegation.

The victims are still waiting that they will be reinstated.

The meeting attended by dozens of social activists including Badar Ahmad, Shamsuz Zuha, Shafique Balkhi, Raman Yadav and Ramji Singh has demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to set up a probe into 55 appointments allegedly made in a single day in 1985 by Professor Arun Kumar who was then Chairman of the Council.
