Blast kills one child in NW Pakistan

Islamabad : A remote control bomb was detonated in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday, killing one child and injuring six other people.

The bomb was planted in a women’s make-up shop in Charbagh town of the volatile Swat valley, News Network International (NNI) news agency quoted police as saying.

The police said the shop owner was cleaning the shop early in the morning when the bomb device went off, killing a nine-year-old child. The shop was completely destroyed.

The blast also damaged several other shops in nearby areas.

No group claimed responsibility for the blast.
