Patna: Notwithstanding the glorious contribution of Muslims, madrasas and Ulema of Darul Uloom Deoband and Sadiqpur (Patna) in India’s freedom struggle, madrasas are now being blamed for terrorism, said Maulana Arshad Madani, former president of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind, at an anti-terrorism conference on 2nd June.
The conference was organized by Rabita Madaris-e-Islamia at the city’s S.K. Memorial Hall. Maulana Arshad Madani warned secular parties that communal forces may come to power at the centre in the coming Lok Sabha election. He said secular forces fostered and nurtured communal forces who are now trying to push back the country in their quest to grab power.
Maulana Shaukat Ali of Darul Uloom Deoband said India has been influenced by the global geo-political scenario created by some big powers. He asked investigating agencies why those who demolished Babri Masjid on 6th December 1992 are not described as terrorists. Wasn’t the planned killing of innocent Muslims in Gujarat after Godhra train fire in 2002 a terrorist act? He asked.
