Tamil Nadu’s minorities loan schemes for small businesses

Delhi: Low income minorities can now apply for loans in Tamil Nadu. In a new scheme launcehed by the Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation, it will provide loans to minorities to set up micro and small business.

Only those minorities who have annual income of not more than Rs. 39,500 for rural areas and Rs. 54,500 for urban areas are eligible for this loan scheme.

Poor Christian, Muslim, Sikh and Buddhist will get help from this scheme.

Muslims are 5.6% of the population of Tamil Nadu, according to the 2001 census of India.

Application form for this loan scheme is available at the Central Co-operative Bank and District Backward Class and also Minorities Welfare Office.
